What is the Chip Crisis?
First of all, what is a chip? Where is it used and why is it important? Let's take a quick look at such questions. 👀
A group of electronic circuits placed on a metal sheet designed with semiconductor materials, usually made of silicon, with many names such as chip, integrated circuit, integrated circuit, chip, chip, microchip or integrated circuit.
The internet, the first thing humanity fails to understand, is the biggest experiment in anarchy we've ever had.

It is in all smart technological tools, from the automotive sector to the kitchen appliances in our home. So this tiny piece is with us in every aspect of our lives. 🚘
So, What is the Chip Crisis❔
With the development and growth of technology, the biggest reason affecting the production of chips, which is in great demand around the world, is global warming. Taiwan and its largest producer TSCM, which meets 80% of our chip needs, are experiencing water shortages. Now the following question may come to mind. What does water have to do with our topic? Because these chips can be made usable for production by cleaning them in a pure form that is 1000 times more purified than normal drinking water. More than 150,000 tons of water is consumed on average per day for this cleaning. Therefore, drought causes the production process to be interrupted. 💧
Another situation that causes the crisis is the pandemic. Conducting our education and working order from home during this period increased the need for tablets, phones and computers. In addition, the automotive sector, which thought that people would not go out due to the bans and that the purchase would decrease, reduced its chip orders. But the situation did not turn out as they expected. People who did not want to use public transportation anymore wanted to meet their transportation needs with their own vehicles. Therefore, the demand for cars has increased. 😷
If we consider the weather conditions affecting the supply process, chip manufacturers are in search of solutions, which are experiencing an increase in demand and production-distribution problems. 🌪
We still don't know when a solution will be found. However, various factory initiatives have been started in America and Europe in order to remove the monopoly of chip production from some countries and to increase chip production. ✅
